In 1998, Yoo Dali is not only the girlfriend of Ha Taesu, the boss of the school gang, but also the daughter of the landlord, Yoo Hak-young, in whose house Ahn Junpyo is renting a room.
Yoo Hakyoung, having lost his wife a few years prior, is now involved with Baek Hyun-ah, a coffee shop employee. Their relationship creates noise disturbances throughout the building, yet Ahn Junpyo and the other tenants feel powerless to confront the landlord, forced to suppress their frustrations.
As Junpyo’s anger towards the landlord’s behavior intensifies, he finds himself unable to express hostility towards Yoo Dali, his childhood friend who holds considerable influence over him. In stark contrast to Yoo Dali’s popularity, Jun-pyo’s school life is dismal; he faces bullying due to his timid nature and endures Yoo Dali’s playful torment, all while succumbing to the pressures from the delinquent group at school.
